Example | Comprehension in Inclusion Setting

I go into the kindergarten classroom to work with one student, Anna. She is sitting at a single station along the edge of the classroom waiting for me to begin speech. I see her for 15 minutes twice a week in the Kindergarten classroom. I find that the increased frequency and small bursts of service delivery provides her the best opportunity for increased outcomes. We sit together at the Amplio station. Her learning tract is focused on answering questions – generalizing all of them. We go through each activity together. Taking turns, we ask each other questions. We do one activity and answer the questions and then we spend a few minutes asking each other questions, either the same one from the activity or one we made up! The Amplio stimuli in the platform keep us guessing because it’s always something new! When they see us on the platform, all of the kids wish they could have speech therapy!

  • Kindergarten room
  • Twice a week 15 minutes
  • One station
  • Fun conversation and both of us focusing on each question through the learning path
  • We practice each stimuli after we see it on Amplio
  • The other kids want to play
