Minimum Requirements for Amplio Learning Platform

Computer Set-Up

Computer setup varies between 2 main users types in our system, educators and students.

General Requirements

  • Webcam and Playback device (i.e. built-in or external speakers, headphones, etc.)
  • Fast internet connection (15mpbs or higher download and upload speed)
  • Browser – Last two major releases of one of these browsers: Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge on computers running Windows, Mac.
  • The minimal resolution is 1024×768.

Educators

Each SLP/dyslexia interventionist must have a computer that meets the following specifications:

  • Dual-core processor i3-5010U and above.
    • Please note: Chromebooks with Intel Celeron CPU are not supported.
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 11-inch display or larger. (Minimal Screen Resolution 1024×768)

Operating system

  • Windows 10 or later. 
  • Mac OS X 10.13 (or later).

Browsers

  • Last two major releases of one of these browsers: Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge

 

Students

Each student must have a device that meets the following specifications:

  • M1 chip or Intel CPU-based or AMD CPU-based (4 GB of RAM minimum recommended).
  • 11-inch display or larger is recommended

 

Operating system:

  • Windows 10 or later. 
  • Mac OS X 10.13 (or later).
  • ChromeOS +
  • IPad iOS (Last two major releases, IPads iOS 14.3+)
  • Android (Last two major releases)

Browsers

  • Last two major releases of one of these browsers: Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge
  • Supporting Safari on iPads Only.

 

Other users (Spedirectors and System Administrators)

We do not have special restrictions for other users in our system, other than a stable internet connection.

 

Network and configurations

Internet Connection

Broadband Internet connection with upload and download speeds of at least 10 Mbps. (15 Mbps or higher preferred)

Using a Cellular Network is not recommended, you are strongly advised to use a WIFI or Ethernet connection.

 

Permissions

Amplio Learning platform requires Camera and Microphone permissions.

If you’re using a Chrome device at work or school, your network administrator can set camera and microphone settings for you. In that case, you can’t change them here. Learn about using a managed Chrome device.

 

Firewalls Requirements

Please whitelist the following from all web filters, firewalls, and other network filtering devices in your school network.

 

For core system functionality we are recommending whitelisting the following URLs

We strongly recommend whitelisting the entire subdomain under *.ampliospeech.com and *.ampliolearning.com.

For extra functionality which is offered through our platforms such as YouTube Videos, Speech recognition engines, and Other Fun Activities such as the AI Game we highly recommend whitelisting the following domains

OpenTok (Vonage) – Only for Video/Audio sessions, not required for regular on-site session

Network configurations should follow OpenTok Requirements in order to support proper Video/Audio experience.
